Susan Bari was a child actor with Boston Children's Theater. She moved on to a diverse and interesting career as a teacher, manufacturer's representative, nonprofit executive and writer.

Susan is President Emeritus of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and was its founding president in 1997. The author of three books for entrepreneurs, she has been extensively featured in the business press as an expert on the growth of and challenges faced by women-owned businesses.

She was appointed by President Reagan as chairman of the Council on Women’s Business Enterprise and by President Clinton to a term as a member of the National Women’s Business Council, and was subsequently reappointed by President Bush.  

Bari earned her MBA at Virginia Tech and served as a member of its board of governors from 1998 – 2002 and on the Advisory Council to its Pamplin College of Business for the past 20 years.
